Acceptance of Terms
Use Occasio, and these terms apply.
By accessing or using Occasio (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
What Occasio Is
We're the curated marketplace and the checkout, not the event organizer.
Occasio is a curated event marketplace that connects hosts with attendees across the United States. We provide a platform to discover, list, and buy tickets to events. Every event is reviewed by our moderation team before it is published. Occasio facilitates payment and ticket delivery but is not the event organizer.
Accounts
Browse and buy without one. Keep it secure if you have one.
You can browse and buy tickets without an account. For features that require one, you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Provide accurate, current information when you register.
Ticket Purchases
You buy from the host. We handle payment, your tickets, and your receipt.
When you buy a ticket, you transact with the event host; Occasio facilitates payment and delivers your tickets with QR codes by email. Availability, pricing, and event details are set by the host. Your confirmation email is your official receipt and itemizes price, fees, and tax.
Fees & Pricing
Hosts pay the fees. You only ever pay what you see at checkout.
Every fee is shown at checkout before you pay. Occasio charges hosts a 10% platform fee on tickets. Depending on how the host configured the event, that fee is either added to your total as a separate line (attendee-paid) or absorbed by the host. Add-ons carry a separate fee that is always paid by the host.
Occasio absorbs card-processing fees on successful sales; they are never added to your total beyond what you see at checkout.
Sales Tax
We calculate, collect, and remit your sales tax, itemized on your receipt.
Occasio acts as a “marketplace facilitator” under applicable U.S. state and local laws. For transactions on the platform, Occasio calculates, collects, and remits the applicable sales tax to the relevant authority on the host's behalf.
Tax is shown as a separate line on your receipt. The rate is based on the venue location for in-person events or your billing address for online events, computed via Stripe Tax. When a ticket is refunded, the corresponding tax is reversed and returned to you with the refund. Hosts: see Section 7 of the Host Agreement for facilitator details affecting settlements and 1099-K reporting.
Refunds & Cancellations
Refunds follow the host's posted policy. Cancellations are refunded in full, tax included.
Each host sets a refund policy (None, 24-hour, 48-hour, 7-day, or Flexible) shown on the event page before you buy. You can request a refund within your event's window; the ticket price, any add-ons, and all sales tax are returned. Platform and service fees are non-refundable.
If a host cancels an event, you receive a full refund automatically, including tax. For specific requests, contact the host or reach our support team.
Event Hosts
Hosts own their listings' accuracy. Every event is reviewed before it's published.
Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listings and the legality of their events. All listings are reviewed before publication, and Occasio may reject or remove any listing at its discretion. Hosts are bound by the additional terms in the Host Agreement.
Prohibited Conduct
Don't break the law or game the platform.
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Create fraudulent listings or ticket purchases
- Attempt to circumvent our security measures
- Resell tickets obtained through the Service without authorization
- Impersonate any person or entity
Intellectual Property
The platform is ours. Don't copy it.
The Occasio platform, including its design, logos, and content, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written consent.
Limitation of Liability
We run the platform, not the events; our liability is capped at our fee.
Occasio provides the platform on an “as is” basis. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of events listed on the platform. Our liability is limited to the amount of fees Occasio collected in connection with the relevant transaction.
Changes to These Terms
We'll tell you before anything material changes.
We may update these Terms from time to time and will notify users of material changes through the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
